“I have been coming here for two years and this is by far the most accommodating, honest, and experienced workers (Paul, Juan, and Mary) that I have encountered. They cover a wide array of issues from new tires to engine work. I will not go anywhere else. Thank you guys for helping me with my car.”
Used Tires in North Charleston, SC
A blown tire on I-26 or a sidewall gash from a Rivers Avenue pothole does not wait for payday. Champion Tires & Brakes keeps a rotating stock of inspected used tires in the sizes North Charleston drivers actually run — from 15" commuter sizes to common truck and SUV fitments — so you can get back on the road the same day without paying for a full new set.
Every used tire we sell is checked before it goes on your car: we measure remaining tread depth, inspect the inner liner and bead for prior plug damage or dry rot, and look at the DOT date code. If a tire does not pass our inspection, we do not sell it — and we will always tell you when a new tire is the better choice for your vehicle. Walk in during shop hours and a technician will match a tire to your existing set so handling stays predictable.

Starting price
$40Used tires start around $40 installed for common passenger sizes. Larger truck, SUV and low-profile sizes cost more, and availability changes daily — call ahead with your size and we'll tell you what's on the rack.
What affects your final cost
- Tire size and load rating
- Remaining tread depth on the tire you choose
- Whether your wheel needs TPMS sensor service
- How many tires you're replacing
Starting prices are estimates. Final pricing depends on your vehicle, the parts it needs, and what we find during inspection.
When a used tire makes sense
- One tire is damaged but the other three still have good tread
- You need to pass inspection or get through the next few months on a tight budget
- A sidewall puncture or bubble makes the tire unrepairable
- Cords or belts are showing on a worn edge
- You picked up a nail too close to the shoulder to patch safely
What we check before mounting
- Remaining tread depth measured across the whole face, not just the center
- Sidewall condition — bulges, cuts, curb damage and dry rot cracking
- Interior liner for old plugs, patches or run-flat heat damage
- Bead sealing surface and your wheel for corrosion that causes slow leaks
- Tire age from the DOT date code
- Your other three tires, so we can match tread pattern and depth as closely as possible
What's included
- Mount and computer balance on the wheel
- New valve stem or TPMS service kit where applicable
- Old tire disposal
- Torque to your vehicle's spec with a torque wrench
- A quick look at your remaining tires and tread depth

Frequently asked questions
How much tread is left on your used tires?
It varies by tire, but we do not sell anything near the wear bars. We'll show you the measured depth before you buy so you know roughly how many miles you're getting.
Can I buy just one used tire?
Yes. Most of our used tire customers need one. If you drive an all-wheel-drive vehicle, we'll check whether the tread difference is close enough to avoid drivetrain strain.
Do you have my size in stock?
Stock turns over constantly. Call (843) 310-1111 with the numbers on your sidewall (for example 225/65R17) and we'll check before you drive over.
Is a used tire safe?
We inspect every used tire before it is sold and reject any with sidewall damage, prior improper repairs, dry rot or excessive age. A used tire has less remaining tread life than a new one, so we will show you the measured tread depth and let you decide what is right for your driving. If we would not put it on our own vehicle, we do not sell it.
